What We Believe

About our Christian Fellowship in Harby

We are a Fellowship of Christians voluntarily associated for the purpose of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and having fellowship in His Love and Grace. Our unity is in Jesus Christ who is our Saviour and our Lord.

We are an Independent church that is affiliated to Ground Level - a network of 60+ Churches from the UK & Overseas. VCF is informal, evangelical & charismatic in nature.

We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for today and encourage their use.

Our worship style is modern with drums and guitars to express our love for God. We believe worship should have a prominent place in our services.

Statement of Faith

• Our unity is in Jesus Christ who is our Saviour and our Lord. Romans 12:5
• We believe the Bible was given by God through men to us and is our supreme authority, the basis of our beliefs and actions. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
• We believe in the sovereignty and the unchanging nature of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Malachi 3:6, Isaiah 64:8, Daniel 7:14
• We believe in God as Creator, Provider, Redeemer and Judge. Genesis 1:1, John 3:16, 2 Timothy 4:1
• We believe that we become part of God's family by personal faith and trust in Jesus Christ who died on the cross for us. John 1:12
• We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Gift of the Father and the Son to the believer to live within that person, giving spiritual life. John 15:26, Romans 8:11
• We believe in baptism in water as a public declaration of our faith. Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38
• We believe that the church consists of Christians of every race and ought to demonstrate the character and conduct of Jesus in the world. Matt 28:19, Philippians 1:27, 1 Peter 1:16
• We believe Jesus will return to earth again in a visible and bodily form as he has promised. John 14:1-3, Acts 1:9-10
